Student-friendly Barcelona?
Living in Barcelona is definitely great for students, even if it’s not a low cost experience. Besides the rent you get many amenities, in almost every kind of interest. 
For instance, with the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona City History, Funicular Montjuïc you can receive discounts for all these places, and the Catalunya History Museum is even totally free of charge for students. All you have to do for everywhere you is show your student ID, even your national student ID can work because it is an international one. Ask your university where you can get one, because some of the attractions only accept the international one. For example if you want to visit one of the biggest aquariums in Europe, the L’Aquárium Barcelona you must pay 17 € if you don’t have an international student ID. Some attractions like the Zoo Barcelona don’t have a discount for students at all, but nevertheless there are few places which are free of charge! Nearly every museum has one day in the month a day with free admission and on the 24th September (La Mercé, day of the patron saint of Barcelona) the admissions to all sights are free. But remember that according to the free entry everyone goes into the sights at that special day and that it will be totally full of people everywhere. In summary, Barcelona is a very student-friendly city, although the entrance of the nightclubs is very expensive.
