Valencia, not just an old city

Valenciamodern 300x150 Valencia, not just an old city

Valencia might be known for its fantastic paella, the comfortable climate and its beautifull historical architecture. But there is way more to see in the third biggest city of Spain.trans Valencia, not just an old city

This modern part of the town consists of the Hemisferic (an IMAX cinema), the Umbracle (a  viewpoint, from where you can see all the lakes and landscaped areas of the CAC), the 21st-century Science Museum (explains you, in an entertaining way, what you do daily and that from a scientific point of view), the Oceanográfico (the biggest aquarium in Europe) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (which takes care of the operatic programme).

Though all the buildings are unique, the Oceanográfico is the biggest and has the most impressive architecture of the “Cuidad de las artes y las ciencias”, how the spanish people say.
It has more than 500 different species like dolphins, sea lions, penguins, sharks, rays, etc. from all over the world. The Mediterranean, Wetlands, Temperate and Tropical Seas, Oceans, the Antarctic, the Arctic, Islands, and the Red Sea, and all of this on a surface of 110.000 m² and 42 million litres of water.

Of course there is also a spectacular dolphin show and it´s even possible to sleep with the sharks just seperated through a glass window. It´s incredible!

For more information you can have a look on the website of the city of arts and sciences.

Maybe this post can be interesting too
