Happy Thanksgiving 2009! The US Thanksgiving day is celebrated every year on the third Thursday of November, so this year it is at Thursday the 26th of November. If you are interested in celebrating Thanksgiving in Barcelona, then the best way to do it is trough the American Society or in American bars like the Hard Rock Cafe .
The American Society of Barcelona (ASB) functions as a non-political and non-profit organization and strives to be the focal point for people in Barcelona who are interested in developing and maintaining business and social relationships in an international environment. You do not have to be American to be a member of the American Society! They are giving a Thanksgiving buffet dinner at Hotel Arts. The chefs are preparing another spectacular Thanksgiving dinner especially for the American Society. The menu of the buffet will be the following:
Soup:
- Celery Root Bisque with Fresh Thyme & Spanish Ham
Salads:
- Smoked Chicken with Sautéed Apples, Raisins & Sour Cream Dressing
- Mixed Greens with Pomegranate Seeds, Pine Nuts & Maple Roasted Pears
- Marinated Beets, Fennel, Watercress & Blue Cheese
- Wild Rice & Scallops, Chanterelle Vinaigrette & Arugula
Main Course:
- Slow Roasted Whole Turkey with Traditional Herb Au Jus Gravy
- Cranberry Quince Compote with Cornbread Stuffing with Sausage, Chestnut & Sage
- Bourbon & Honey Glazed Ham with Apricots
- Asparagus with Green Onions and Herb Roasted Yams
- Polenta Corn Cakes with Wild Mushroom Pan Roast
